NBC Apologizes After NAFDAC Suspended Sale Of Contaminated Eva Water

The Nigerian Bottling Company, NBC, the makers of premium bottled water, Eva have apologized to its consumers after NAFDAC suspended the production of the water following complaints of contamination.

It was reported last week that some bottles of the popular premium bottled water was changing colour. When approached by the National Agency for Food, Drugs and Administration Control (NAFDAC) concerning the issue, NBC admitted that they were having some challenges with some batches of the Eva water.

The Agency went ahead to suspend the production and consumption of Eva water until it concludes investigation on the contaminated products and asked NBC to recall the affected batches.

Following this suspension, NBC have issued a statement, apologizing for the inconvenience that the faulty batches of Eva water may have caused to their consumers.

“We had commenced withdrawal of the affected batches which are 220519.14.27 AC4 and 230519.15.15 AC4, prior to the NAFDAC announcement and are cooperating with the agency in its investigation,” NBC’s director of public affairs and communications, Ekuma Eze said

“We also regret the inconvenience this may have caused our consumers and have since requested consumers in possession of products with the stated batch numbers to return them to our nearest offices or distributors/dealers for replacement.

“We wish to confirm that there are no issues with other batches of our premium Eva Water, even as we reassure our consumers of our commitment to highest quality standards, product safety and consumer satisfaction.”

NAFDAC is yet to conclude their investigation on the matter.
