FG, Lecturers Currently In Emergency Meeting To End ASUU Strike
The Federal Government of Nigeria is currently in an emergency closed-door meeting with the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) over the ongoing strike in public universities across the country.
The meeting, which is presently holding at the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Abuja, is not the first since the beginning of the strike.

It is however, the ninth time the striking lecturers are meeting with the Minister of Labour and Employment to resolve the industrial action since they embarked on the strike in November last year.
Today’s meeting is aimed to tackle the demands by the lecturers which include improved funding of universities among others and implementation of previous agreements with the government.
