Nigerian artist, Tuface Idibia has been recommended and awarded for mobilising youths to vote in the 2019 elections.
As the 2019 general elections draw near, INEC believe the Nigerian youth have a vital role to play, especially in the aspect of voting. Since the Not Too Young To Vote Bill has been passed, it has aroused the consciousness of youths and young people in Nigeria generally to take their destiny into their hands and vote for the right candidate of their choice; and stop complaining about the old ,people in government.
The chairman of INEC, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, stated this during an election summit for youths, where popular musicians were given awards for helping to mobilise youths to register for the elections.
Among those given awards were ace musician Innocent Idibia (Tuface) and Ambassador Ketil Karlson, Head of European Union to Nigeria and ECOWAS.
While commending Tuface and others for mobilising youths to participate in the voter registration, the INEC boss urged them to continue to tell them to collect their Permanent Voter Cards.
